In 2011, the Town of Victoria Park Council endorsed the Lathlain Park Master Plan (LPMP) which was going to guide the redevelopment of Lathlain Park into a more vibrant, and community friendly space. Since the West Coast Eagles have come on board and chosen Lathlain Park as the location for their new training, administration and community centre, this original plan has changed, and we now call it the Lathlain Precinct Redevelopment Project. The original plan included lots of recreation and leisure space for the community which will still be delivered.
What will this zone deliver to the community?
This zone will be an area of public passive recreation. Based on community feedback and the engagement process design for the Management Plan, the actual contents of this zone will be guided by a series of community workshops. Here are the elements of the zone that are to be decided by the community:
high-level design guidelines
future of remnant bushland
location and number of public tennis courts
landscaped areas with BBQs
layout of Goddard Street and McCartney Crescent (including parking).
Can I have a say about what goes where?
Yes, we’re inviting residents to get involved in a series of workshops that will help develop the zone. The workshop dates are:
