Public advertising of West Coast Eagles Development Application

The Town of Victoria Park has received a development application (DA) from Urbis on behalf of the West Coast Eagles Football Club (WCE) for a proposed administration, training and community facility, including (but not limited to) the following components: 

  • Administration facilities for the WCE.
  • Indoor and outdoor training, aquatic, medical, rehabilitation and recovery facilities for the WCE.
  • Administration facilities for the Wirrpanda Foundation.
  • Facilities available for use by the public including a museum, café, sports medicine facilities and function spaces.
  • Associated works including pedestrian access, fencing, landscaping and floodlighting towers to both ovals.
  • The building is to be two storeys in height adjacent to Bishopsgate Street and three storeys adjacent to the ovals.  The building height adjacent to Bishopsgate Street ranges from 4m to 15.5m above the level of the footpath along Bishopsgate Street.
  • A total of 212 on-site car bays, comprising basement parking, car parking fronting Bishopsgate Street, and a car park at the corner of Roberts Road and Bishopsgate Street.
  • A single storey maintenance building adjacent to Roberts Road.

The DA has been prepared to align with the draft Lathlain Park Management Plan (MP) which is the subject of separate community consultation also (refer to separate post on this site).

Prior to Council considering the DA, you are invited to comment on the proposal.

Community information sessions on both the draft MP and the DA will be conducted by Council as per details below. This will be a good opportunity to ask any questions that you may have and view the draft MP and the DA plans.

Your comments will be considered by Council before a recommendation is made to the Western Australian Planning Commission who will make a recommendation on the application to the Metropolitan Central Joint Development Assessment Panel.
